Wait, 2018?! Well that snuck up on us! And we’re already one and a half months down. Time flies when you are having fun, and at Earthchild Project, we certainly are having fun!
We are excited to welcome our newest Gap Year Intern to our team – Sivenathi Damane. With her joining the team, we see the evolution of the roles of our previous Gap Years’, Mahle, Siki and Anitha, as they move into their place as junior staff with the Earthchild Project Team. We are honoured to share the experience of growth with these young ladies.
2018 started off with a bang, with the Dry January campaign raising R56 000.00!! We are continually amazed by the support of our activists, and Janet Gourand has certainly made an impact this year, providing another 224 yogis with weekly yoga lessons for 2018.
Our year ahead is already full of promise and excitement. Things have been heating up in the ECP office as we prepare for our 3rd annual Teachers Wellness Convention to be held next week. The following week is SpiritFest Africa which will be in beautiful Swellendam this year and where we will proudly represent our organisation at our own Earthchild Project stand. Be sure to come say hi if you are there! International Day of Yoga promises to be another huge event this year, thanks to adidas and Joelle Sleebos. And in between it all, 2018 ahead is glittered with hikes, overnight camps, holiday programmes, school outings, yoga events and much more.
Remember to follow us on social media and share our moments and memories with your friends, families and networks. We look forward to sharing the excitement of the year ahead with you all and we hope that through our work, we can inspire you to connect with yourself, others and nature in 2018.
