Last week Wednesday was a morning of honouring our local yoga ambassadors who have each supported Earthchild Project in a unique and generous way. It was a great time to show our appreciation to our ambassadors and to highlight the value of Seva in our yoga journeys. “Seva” is a Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service” or work performed without any thought of reward or repayment. In ancient India seva was believed to help one’s spiritual growth and at the same time contribute to the improvement of a community. Without a doubt a true description of the work that our ambassadors do for ECP.

Our guests of honour were welcomed to Yomelela Primary School by the principle, who related the tangible benefits that she see’s in the school children as a result of them participating in weekly yoga lessons. We were then entertained by the children through traditional song and dance, followed by a beautifully peaceful yoga practice and a thank you ceremony. We then had time to connect and catch up over tea, coffee and delicious snacks. This gesture of thanks is so small in comparison to the great gratitude that our team and our Earthchildren feel towards our yoga ambassadors.

Our guests left with hearts full of love and Melissa said of the day, ” ..such a truly beautiful morning…left us feeling beyond special…we were really overwhelmed.”

Our ambassador programme has been a definite highlight for 2018 and we are filled with love and gratitude to each and every one of our ambassadors for being a driving force behind the work that we do.
