We are delighted to share a significant milestone in our journey…on Thursday, October 19, we proudly unveiled a transformative learning and yoga space at Yomelela Primary School in Khayelitsha. This endeavor has been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Nevermined Diamonds, a renowned company based on sustainability, integrity and ethics in Germany.
Having worked in Yomelela Primary School for over a decade, we have faced challenges due to the lack of a dedicated space to teach yoga to our children. The new classroom addresses this obstacle, providing a haven where hundreds of children will benefit from daily yoga and life skills lessons. Additionally, the classroom will facilitate extra murals, teachers’ workshops, and holiday programs, offering a secure environment for children and teachers to connect, learn, and grow.
We were honored to host Nadine Mirada, brand ambassador for Mandana Jewellery (made with Nevermined Diamonds) and Christine Marhofer, CEO of Nevermined Diamonds, along with other guests. In a symphony of song and celebration, our guests were welcomed to the launch and into the vibrant heart of Yomelela Primary School. The day unfolded with a tour of the school, allowing our supporters to meet the enthusiastic faces of the hundreds of children whose lives will be touched by this new space. Guided by our Director, Janna, the event resonated with gratitude. A serene moment of meditation, led by one of our Earthchildren, Ayabulela, was followed by Mr. Dlaku, the school principal, emphasising the sanctity of this space for the children of Yomelela Primary.
Engaging icebreakers facilitated connections, weaving a sense of community among attendees. Noks, through a soul-stirring yoga session, reminded us of the importance of inner peace. The event culminated in heartfelt exchanges and expressions of thanks, echoing the unity of purpose between Earthchild Project and Nevermined Diamonds. The air buzzed with the echoes of songs, the warmth of embraces, and the genuine joy of shared progress. In those precious moments, the essence of our collective endeavor came to life, reaffirming our commitment to shaping a future where every child can flourish.
