There is nothing like a day in nature to reconnect, reset, and fill our cups.
Our recent team wellness day was just what our team needed – a chance to slow down, check in with ourselves, and enjoy some deep connection with self and each other under the oak trees at the foot of Table Mountain. We kicked off with some lighthearted games, tapping into the childlike joy that always lives in the ECP spirit. We always find that this is such a special way to relax, have fun, and be free.
After much friendly competition an laughter, as a team, we paused to reflect on the Earthchild Project Values;
- Integrity
- Quality relationships
- Learning & growing
- Meaningful & sustainable change
- Being conscious & aware
Each person shared which value felt most alive for them in that moment, since we all carry the Earthchild Project ethos not only into our work but into our everyday lives. This kind of self-reflection and collective sharing is part of our rhythm at ECP – always growing, always learning, and always inspiring, together.
After lunch overlooking our city, we ventured into Newlands Forest for a grounding, silent walk. Forest bathing allowed us to drop into the present moment, surrounded by trees and fresh mountain air. The stillness was followed by deeply restorative yin yoga, all facilitated by Ayurvedia Health and Wellness Coach, Claudia Batschari.
It was a day of slowing down, of returning home to ourselves and each other.
For a team that spends their days giving so much of themselves – often in challenging environments – these moments to pause, breathe, and simply be are essential. We’re deeply grateful to work in a space and community that honours this self-care.
