On 19 March, Earthchild Project staff, along with the incredible teachers and learners of Ikhusi Primary School in Khayelitsha, came together in our ECP classroom for the long-awaited celebration and expression of gratitude to Truworths for making this space possible.
Khayelitsha is a community with particular safety challenges, creating the need for a peaceful, positive environment where children and teachers can feel safe. This classroom provides exactly that – a nurturing space where thousands of children have access to daily yoga and life skills lessons, extra murals, and holiday programmes. It has already become an invaluable part of our programmes in Khayelitsha, offering a place of stability, creativity, and learning opportunities for all who step inside.
We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, Truworths, as well as everyone who played a role in the planning and building of this classroom. Your dedication and generosity have made this dream a reality, ensuring that young minds have a space to grow, learn, and thrive.
A heartfelt thank you to Truworths for believing in the potential of our children and investing in a future where every child has the opportunity to flourish.
